Uniqlo are releasing a collection in celebration of Gunpla's 40th Anniversary. They are inspired by gundam model kits and the boxes they come in. This is a unique collection for them, especially given that their previous collections highlight either manga or anime, including the Uniqlo Jujustu Kaisen collection and the Uniqlo Demon Slayer collection. This is one of our favorite Gundam collaborations since the Nike Gundam SB released.
Thanks to Uniqlo we've also learned that more than 500 million kits have been sold since they first began releasing in 1980, and that number is only going to continue to grow with all of the exciting new gundam model kits that are expected to release in 2022.
The Uniqlo Gunpla collection includes eight new short-sleeve t-shirts, which are joining their UT line. They all feature lettering and graphics that are reminiscent of those seen on the kits' boxes. One shirt even includes a runner from the RX-78-2 Gundam kit on it. The rest feature graphics of the specific kits themselves, which are fan favorites, including the RX-93 ν Gundam or Nu Gundam, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, the Strike Freedom Gundam, which is the latest MGEX kit announced, the MS-06 Zaku II, the MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki, the MSN-04 Sazabi that's piloted by Char in Mobile Suit Gundam, and the AMX-004 Qubeley.
If you purchase three of more t-shirts in this collection, you will get a free Uniqlo gundam model kit. The free model kits are of the Gunpla RX-78-2U or MS-06SU Zaku II and they have the UT logo on them. They will be given away at random with each qualifying order.
The Uniqlo Gunpla collaboration with be available for purchase on April 10, 2022 on Uniqlo's website. You can shop it at one of the following sites!
