Jump Festa 2023, which kicked off on December 17, 2022 and ran through December 18th, is something we look forward to every year, because exciting new anime series as well as new details about upcoming anime that have already been announced for the 2023 anime season and beyond are revealed. Last year, at Jump Festa 2022, there were a lot of announcements and this year was no exception.

New Anime Announced at Jump Festa 2023
At Jump Festa 2023, two new anime series were announced, Mission: Yozakura Family and Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective. These are both going to be adapted from their manga releases. You can currently check out Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective on one of my favorite manga readers, Manga Plus, and Mission: Yozakura Family is currently being serialized by Viz, so you can pick volumes of the series now wherever you buy manga.
Mission: Yozakura Family Anime Announced
Mission: Yozakura Family follows Taiyo Asano, a super-shy high school student. The only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura; However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her—and his next target is Taiyo. The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi.
Animating the upcoming Mission: Yozakura Family anime is SILVER LINK (Non Non Biyori, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow) and it is expected to release sometime in 2024.
Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective Anime Announced
Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective follows an unusual duo that brings hidden truths into the light. Ron Kamonohashi, a private investigator with serious issues, and Totomaru Ishiki, a pure-hearted but dim police detective, team up to solve the most baffling mysteries. It is an exciting new detective story from Akira Amano, the creator of Reborn!. Animating the series is Diomedéa (KanColle Movie, Ahiru no Sora). A release date has yet to be confirmed.
New Anime Seasons Confirmed at Jump Festa 2023
In addition to the new anime series they revealed at Jump Festa 2023, a number of new anime seasons were announced, including Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Spy x Family Season 2, and Blue Exorcist Season 3.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is a new addition to the Summer 2023 anime season, and it is releasing in July 2023. Spy x Family Season 2 is also currently in production and it is arriving sometime in 2023, along with a new movie that is also in production.
Blue Exorcist Season 3, which is currently in production, was announced too. The Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga released in 2017, so this is a long-awaited announcement. And finally, Boruto is entering a new arc based on Sasuke’s Story: The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust, a spinoff series by Jun Esaka. The new arc is airing in January 2023.
New Details Revealed About Upcoming Anime Releases
On top of everything that was announced above, they also revealed new updates and details about upcoming 2023 anime releases at Jump Festa 2023.
New trailers for Dr. Stone Season 3, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King (TREASURE are performing the theme song), Hell’s Paradise, Undead Unluck, and Chained Soldier were screened as well as a preview clip of Dark Gathering.
In the trailer for Undead Unluck, it was revealed that David Production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Fire Force) are animating the series. A new teaser visual was also revealed for Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! as well as some new staff announcements. Nobunaga Shimazaki is voicing Tsubasa Shiki (Yuno from Black Clover).
In addition, we got release updates for Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Hell’s Paradise, and Too Cute Crisis. All three are releasing in April 2023.
