We are only including anime that have been confirmed, not speculated, on this post, so all of these anime are expected to be released within the year unless unexpected delays are announced. Kaiju No. 8

An upcoming Kaiju No. 8 anime based on the Shonen manga by Naoya Matsumoto is confirmed. Production I.G (Haikyu!!, Psycho-Pass, Moriarty the Patriot) is animating the series.

Boasting the highest kaiju emergence rates globally, Japan is well-acquainted with deadly monster attacks. At the forefront of this battle is the Japan Defense Force, a specialized military unit dedicated to the neutralization of the threat. Kafka Hibino, who works in corpse cleanup, harbors a lifelong ambition to join the force, aiming to fulfill his childhood dream of honoring his childhood promise to Mina, aiming to join the Japan Defense Force alongside her.

While Mina serves as the captain of the Third Division, Kafka finds himself relegated to cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. A sudden change in eligibility rules presents Kafka with a renewed opportunity to achieve his dream. There’s just one significant obstacle—his unexpected transformation into a kaiju. To complicate matters further, he now finds himself on the Defense Force’s neutralization list.

An upcoming Mission: Yozakura Family anime based on the Shonen action manga is confirmed. SILVER LINK. (Non Non Biyori Nonstop, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Vow in the Snow) is animating the anime series. The anime was first announced at Jump Festa 2023.

Mission: Yozakura Family follows Taiyo Asano, a super-shy high school student. The only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura; However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her—and his next target is Taiyo. Laid-Back Camp Season 3

Laid-Back Camp Season 3, adapted from the manga, is slated for release in April. The first season follows Nadeshiko, a high schooler who recently relocated from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, sets out with high hopes of witnessing the iconic Mount Fuji, famously depicted on the 1000 yen bill. An adaptation based on the manhwa Viral Hit is confirmed for release in April with animation by Okuruto Noboru (Tomodachi Game). It is one of our most anticipated series to watch in 2024.

The series follows Hobin Yu, a scrawny high school student, who seems an unlikely candidate for a NewTube channel dedicated to fighting. It’s about an individual known as The Fable who is renowned for his self-described prowess as a “genius at killing,” a reputation that instills fear in the hearts of yakuza across Japan. His exceptional skills have earned him wealth, respect, and a sense of purpose. Yet, beneath the fearsome moniker lies a man who indulges in simple pleasures, favoring silly humor and mediocre television shows over the grandiose lifestyle his reputation might suggest.

Following an intense period of violence and enforcement in Tokyo’s criminal underworld, The Fable’s superior suggests he take a hiatus to enjoy the fruits of his labor. CloverWorks, the studio behind one of 2022’s best anime Bocchi the Rock!, is animating an upcoming adaptation of Wind Breaker, which is expected to be released on April 4 and is based on the manga.

It tells the story of Haruka Sakura, who is only interested in challenging the strong. He’s just started at Furin High, a school known for its tough students who use their strength to protect their town. However, Haruka isn’t looking to be a hero or join forces with anyone—he wants to test his skills against the best and make his way to the top.

Dandadan

Dandadan is one the most highly anticipated series of the year. Science SARU is adapting it (Night Is Short, Walk on Girl, The Tatami Time Machine Blues, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!). The series follows Momo Ayase, a girl with a big heart and a tendency to leap before she looks, who stumbles upon Ken Takakura who is being bullied.

Moved by her instinct to help, she steps in to save Ken. Seizing the chance to make a friend, Ken tries to bond with Ayase over his passion for the occult. Ayase, skeptical about aliens but a believer in ghosts, dismisses Ken’s theories, sparking a debate between them. Kimi ni Todoke Season 3

A new season of Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You is arriving this year. It’s been 13 years since its last season aired with Season 2 releasing in 2011. Production I.G (Usagi Drop, Haikyuu!!) is animating the upcoming season.

Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You is about a high school student named Sawako. Wild rumors about Sawako swirl around her school. Some believe she can see spirits, others believe she brings about misfortune. This paired with her long black hair has earned her the nickname Sadako. Sawako, no matter how much she tries to reach out, struggles to connect due to these misunderstandings, and her classmates often run from her before she even gets a chance to speak.
