Yen Press Announce New Manga at Anime Expo 2022

Oshi no Ko by Aka Akasaka & Mengo Yokoyari

One of the most exciting announcements that Yen Press made at Anime Expo 2022 is a license for Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) and Mengo Yokoyari’s (Scum’s Wish) manga Oshi no Ko. It was also confirmed that an upcoming Oshi no Ko anime is on its way as well. It has yet to be announced when the English release of Oshi no Ko will begin hitting shelves, but we will keep you posted as we learn more.

Oshi no Ko follows Gorou, a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense. Lies are an idol’s weapon.

Doomsday with my Dog by Yuu Ishihara

Yen Press also revealed that they will be releasing the post-apocalyptic, slice-of-life manga Doomsday with my Dog by Yuu Ishihara with English translation at a TBD date.

Doomsday with my Dog is about Haru, who may be the last woman on Earth, but she isn’t alone. Accompanied by her dog Haru, an adorable and quick-witted Shiba inu who will gladly lend his wisdom, the end of the world might not be so bad after all.

Honey Lemon Soda by Mayu Murata

Yen Press is also releasing a new shojo and romance manga that’s set in a school called Honey Lemon Soda. The series was created by Mayu Murata, who authored Nagareboshi Lens and Mata Ashita.

Honey Lemon Soda follows Uka Ishimori, who left middle school with nothing but scars. But a chance reencounter with a boy with lemon-colored hair invigorates her, giving her hope that maybe, life can be that much sweeter if she finally reaches out for help.

Shy by Bukimi Miki

Yen Press also confirmed at Anime Expo 2022 that Shy by Bukimi Miki, is getting an English print release at a TBD date. Shy is an action, drama manga that has superpower themes.

The series is about Shy, a timid girl from Japan who has superpowers. She may spend more time worrying about her own shortcomings than she does battling villains, but she’ll show the world that despite it all she still has the heart of a hero.

Pandora Seven by Yuta Kayashima

An English release of Pandora Seven by Yuta Kayashima was announced by Yen Press at Anime Expo 2022. Its first volume will be released at a TBD date. We will keep you posted as we learn more about its release!

The series follows Ria Frontier, whose wish to meet other humans is granted when a war party searching for “Pandora’s Box” ransacks her home and hurts her loved ones. Angered, she somehow unseals a terrible power that will change her life forever.

I’m Quitting Heroing by Nori Kazato and Quantum

An English release of I’m Quitting Heroing by Nori Kazato and Quantum was announced by Yen Press at Anime Expo 2022. The series is releasing at a TBD date. We will keep you posted as we learn more about its release!

K-ON! Shuffle by Kakifly

Yen Press is also releasing K-ON! Shuffle by the original creator of K-ON!, Kakifly, at a TBD date.

K-ON! Shuffle is a new generation of slice-of-life hijinks from Kakifly, the original author of K-ON!. Inspired to start a light music club to warm and thrill the hearts of all listeners, three girls wonder if will things turn out as they hope.

K-ON! The Omnibus Collection

Yen Press is also releasing a new format release of K-ON! by Kakifly. It’s an omnibus collection of the classics that inspired the beloved anime series.

In K-ON!, four girls step up to save their high school’s pop-music club, but the lead guitarist Yui Hirasawa has never played an instrument in her life.

Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World by Masaki Kawakami & Shinta Fuji

Yen Press also confirmed that an English print release of Masaki Kawakami and Shinta Fuji’s fantasy, adventure manga, Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World, is on its way.

The series follows Nick, a veteran adventurer who was dumped by his girlfriend and kicked out of his party. He sets out with a few spirits who are jaded like him to form an unstoppable team to save their bleak, depressing world.

Your Forma by Yoshinori Kisaragi & Mareho Kikuishi

Yen Press announced that an English print release of Yoshinori Kisaragi and Mareho Kikuishi’s detective, sci-fi manga, Your Forma, is on its way at a TBD date.

In Your Forma, a technology developed to safeguard against viral encephalitis has become commonplace. Officer Echika must use this invasive technology to crack cases in a world where your every sight, sound, and emotion is being recorded.

Puella Magi Oriko Magica Omnibus by Magica Quartet & Kuroe Mura

Yen Press also revealed at Anime Expo 2022 that they are releasing Puella Magi Oriko Magica by Magica Quartet and Kuroe Mura, in a new omnibus format. The series was first released with English translation by Yen Press in individual volumes, but they are releasing it again in omnibuses.

The series is about Oriko, the last magical girl, and Yuma, an orphan who is all too eager to gain powers, that are working together to save the future. Explore the first three volumes of Oriko’s magical adventure in this deluxe omnibus edition.
