It’s finally happening! The latest Weekly Shonen Jump just officially confirmed that a Chainsaw Man anime is headed our way. We also couldn’t be happier that MAPPA studio will be taking charge on the animation, especially given their track record with anime like Dorohedoro, Dororo, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan: The Final Season.
Out of all the series, this is the manga we wanted to see adapted most and we couldn’t be happier that it’s finally getting its time on the screen! With that all said, here’s all we know about the Chainsaw Man anime so far!

Who’s the staff behind the Chainsaw Man anime?
The Chainsaw Man anime is going to be directed by Ryu Nakayama (Jujutsu Kaisen) at MAPPA with screenplay by Koji Seko (Attack on Titan), character design by Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation), devil design by Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Devilman Crybaby), and music by Kensuke Ushio (Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, A Silent Voice).
The Japanese voice cast was confirmed at a later date. Kikunosuke Toya is voicing Denji, Shiori Izawa is voicing Pochita (Nanachi from Made in Abyss), Tomori Kusunoki is voicing Makima (Karen Kohiruimaki from Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online), Fairouz Ai is voicing Power (Jolyne Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean), Shogo Sakata is voicing Aki Hayakawa (Karin Sasaki from Fire Force), Mariya Ise is voicing Himeno (Reg from Made in Abyss), Karin Takahashi is voicing Kobeni Higashiyama (Suika from Dr. Stone), Taku Yashiro is voicing Hirokazu Arai (Tanuma Tsubasa from Kaguya-sama: Love is War), and Kenjiro Tsuda is voicing Kishibe (Kento Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen).
The English dub voice cast was also revealed. Ryan Colt Levy (Rody Soul from My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, Ryang-ha Song from Love of Kill) is voicing Denji, Suzie Yeung is voicing Makima (Vladilena “Lena” Milizé from 86, Sumi Sakurasawa from Rent-A-Girlfriend), Reagan Murdock is voicing Aki (Tsukuyomi from Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-), and Sarah Wiedenheft is voicing Power (Charmy Pappitson from Black Clover, Hana Yurikawa from Mieruko-chan).
The English simuldub will begin airing at a later date. Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and German dubs were also confirmed by Crunchyroll.
Opening and Ending Themes for Chainsaw Man
The Chainsaw Man opening theme is “KICK BACK” by Kenshi Yonezu. The ending theme will change with each episode, so there are a total of 12 ending theme songs. And man, the list of artists that will be performing ending themes is amazing.
The ending theme songs are: “HAWATARI NIOKU CENTI (2-hundred-million-centimeter-long blades)” by MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, “ALL KIND OF KISSES” by ano, “Fight Song” by Eve, “Deep down” by Aimer, “Rendezvous” by Kanaria, “In the Back Room” by syudou, “Violence” by Queen Bee, “Time Left” by ZUTOMAYO, “first death” by TK from Ling tosite sigure, “tablet” by TOOBOE, “CHAINSAW BLOOD” by Vaundy, “DOGLAND” by PEOPLE 1.
Chainsaw Man Anime Release Date
It was confirmed at Jump Festa 2022 that the Chainsaw Man anime is releasing in 2022. It was later confirmed by the official website that Chainsaw Man is releasing on October 11, 2022 as part of the Fall 2022 anime season. Check out all you have to look forward to in 2022, including Chainsaw Man!

Chainsaw Man Manga Part 2 Details Also Revealed
In addition to Chainsaw Man‘s anime announcement, they also revealed that the final chapter that just released is not the end of Chainsaw Man, but rather the end of the first arc. Serialization for Part 2 of the manga has already been decided. At Jump Festa 2022, it was confirmed that Part 2 of the Chainsaw Man manga is going to begin serializing in early Summer 2022.
The major announcement they previously teased was already made, but more information is sure to come during Jump Festa 2021, which is taking place on December 19-20th. Chainsaw Man is going to have its own stage presentation during the event.
They’ve also revealed a new website for the adaptation and an official Twitter account, which you can follow to stay updated on Chainsaw Man‘s upcoming adaptation! As of now, an expected release date has yet to be revealed, but we will keep you posted as we learn more.
