Since it's debut yesterday on July 6th, I can't get The God of High School out of my head. With only one episode being released thus far, I find it amazing that I already think this is going to be one of the best anime of 2020.

It might still be too early to make that claim, but I also feel like we were already given so much from Crunchyroll and the highly-acclaimed studio MAPPA, who's work continues to blow my mind.

You may already be familiar with MAPPA, but if you are not, they are the studio behind some of my favorite recently released titles like Dororo and Dorohedoro. And they are also the studio behind upcoming fall 2020 anime series Jujutsu Kaisen and the final season of Attack on Titan.

With such a portfolio, it's no wonder The God of High School's animation is so impeccably done. With high action sequences, like the bike chase in the beginning, and the fight scenes featured towards its end, we caught a glimpse into just how dynamic and crisp the scenes will be throughout the season.

I can't emphasize enough just how fresh and unique the fight scenes are, and I'm excited to see how this further continues to impress as the story continues. The movements of the characters are fun to watch since they each have their own fighting style.

Apart from the animation and style, The God of High School wasted no time getting into the thick of things, so from the looks of it, this will be a series that is bound to be a fast-paced watch. I mean, any anime that opens up with a battle royale and is centered around a tournament made to determine the strongest high schooler of all, is sure to have few, if any, lulls in the action.

With likable characters like Jin Mori, Han Daewi, and Yu Mira, top-notch animation and music, and a strong premise, The God of High School has more than peaked my interest. Believe the hype, this anime is as awesome as everyone says it is.
