In 2019 and 2020, anime has seen some of its best releases, including Dororo, Dr. Stone, Fire Force, Demon Slayer, and Tower of God to name a few. Along with these releases, we’ve been given some amazing opening theme songs from artists like LiSA, Queen Bee, and Stray Kids.
A good opening song can really set the tone for a series and get you even more excited for what’s to come in the new season, and this year and last, have really produced some of the best. All in all, watching anime is a great way to discover some new music.
With that said, here are the bands and artists behind some of the best anime openings in 2019 and 2020. Note: I’ll update the list as new series are aired this year!

Who sings the openings in Dr. Stone?
Dr. Stone’s first season featured two opening theme songs, one from Burnout Syndromes and the other from PELICAN FANCLUB.

Dr. Stone‘s first opening theme is performed by Burnout Syndromes and it is titled “Good Morning World!”. If you aren’t already familiar with Burnout Syndromes, they are a rock band from Osaka. The second opening theme titled “Sangenshoku” began on episode 14 and is performed by PELICAN FANCLUB. If you aren’t already familiar with PELICAN FANCLUB, they are a rock band that formed in 2012. Fire Force‘s first season has two opening themes. The first is “Inferno” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE and the second is “MAYDAY feat. Ryo from Crystal Lake” by Coldrain.

The second opening is performed by Coldrain and it is titled “MAYDAY feat. Ryo from Crystal Lake”. I personally believe that this is best Fire Force opening yet! If you aren’t familiar with Coldrain, they are a metalcore band from Nagoya. Who sings the opening in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba?
“Gurenge” is the opening theme for Kimetsu no Yaiba‘s first season and it is performed by LiSA. If you aren’t familiar with LiSA, she is a Japanese singer and songwriter. She has performed songs on many anime series, including “Datte Atashi no Hero” from My Hero Academia‘s second season and “ADAMAS” from Sword Art Online: Alicization. Who sings the openings in Dororo?
Dororo‘s first opening theme is titled “Kaen” and it is performed by Queen Bee. The second opening is performed by Asian Kung-Fu Generation and it is titled “Dororo”.
