The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 2 is one that has been long-awaited, especially given that the first season of The Devil is a Part-Timer! anime released around eight years ago in 2013.
But the wait is finally about to be over for the highly-anticipated second season of The Devil is a Part-Timer! It was recently announced that it is being added to the 2022 anime release schedule. More specifically, The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 2 is expected to air in July 2022 as confirmed by the official website and the season’s new trailer and visual.
In addition to a release time frame, they also revealed the staff for the upcoming season. The animation studio that worked on the first season is White Fox (Steins;Gate, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-), but a new animation studio is coming in for the second season.
The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 2 is being animated by Studio 3Hz, who have worked on anime like Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, Dimension W, Princess Principal, and A3! Season Spring & Summer in the past, and it is being produced by Infinite with music by Lantis, both of which were a part of Season 1. Directing the new season is Daisuke Tsukushi (Isekai Cheat Magician).
But where is this new season going to pick-up in the story? Season 1 of the anime covered Volumes 1-2 of the light novel, so it is expected that Season 2 will be picking up with Volume 3. That being said, it is unclear as of now as to just how much of the light novels the second season will be covering. 20 light novels of The Devil is a Part-Timer! have been released so far, so the anime still has a long way to go before it’s caught up.
