Funimation are releasing a leather jacket that's inspired by the iconic jacket worn by Kaneda in AKIRA and it is limited to only 300 pieces. They collaborated with designers Carlo Levy (Managing Director of DYBEX S.A.), Alessandro Tombetta, and Stefan Henzgen (MD of Van Doornum GmbH & Co.) to bring this jacket to life.
The manga's original design of Kaneda's jacket didn't feature the capsule emblem, so this is meant to be a take on the manga rather than the anime. According to Funimation, over 50+ hues of red were analyzed to make sure they got the correct shade. The jacket also features a high-quality lining and functional clasps.
