Classroom of the Elite‘s first season was one of the best anime to come out in 2017 and it left us wanting more. Thanks to a special event for Classroom of the Elite, though, it looks like the wait for more is finally over. Not only was Season 2 confirmed during the presentation, but Season 3 was as well.
This has been a trend as of late with The Devil Is a Part-Timer! Season 2 and Bleach Thousand Year Blood War, which were also announced years down the road.
With that all said, here’s everything we know about the upcoming Classroom of the Elite seasons so far!
Classroom of the Elite Background
Light novels of Classroom of the Elite began releasing in 2015. A total of 14 light novels were released in the series. An anime adaptation inspired by the light novels debuted in the Summer of 2017. The first season covered up through around novel 4, so 10 novels have yet to be adapted. Until now that is with the announcement of Seasons 2 and 3 five years later.
What is Classroom of the Elite about?
Classroom of the Elite follows the students at Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School, a facility dedicated to fostering the best and brightest for the future of Japan. Here, students are given nearly complete freedom—but at a cost. To survive, they’ve got to get the grades, stay out of trouble, and be the very best, lest they be left with nothing.
Kiyotaka Ayanokoji is a quiet, unassuming student who doesn’t seem to excel at anything in particular. Stuck in lowly ranked Class D, he just wants to keep under the radar. But when everyone learns the harsh truth behind the school, he finds himself working to protect his classmates. Teaming up with the stoic, Suzune Horikita, Ayanokoji uses his own methods to help his classmates succeed and avoid getting expelled.

Who’s the team behind the upcoming Classroom of the Elite seasons?
Lerche (Assassination Classroom, Given), who animated Classroom of the Elite Season 1, is returning to do the animation for Seasons 2 and 3. Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!, Assassination Classroom) and Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom) are returning to direct the series with character design by Kazuaki Morita (Classroom of the Elite Season 1, Assassination Classroom, Tsuki ga Kirei).
Music for the series is being created by Masaru Yokoyama (Your Lie in April, Horimiya, Fruits Basket) and Kana Hashiguchi (A3! Season Autumn & Winter).
The voice actors from Season 1 are reprising their roles for Classroom of the Elite Seasons 2 and 3.
Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Release Date
Classroom of the Elite Season 2 is airing on July 4, 2022, and it is the latest addition to the Summer 2022 anime season.

Classroom of the Elite Season 3 Release Date
In addition to Classroom of the Elite Season 2, Classroom of the Elite Season 3 was confirmed as a 2023 release, but it has since been delayed to a January 2024 release.
