Yuji Kaku is someone you already may know as the creator of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku, which the Weekly Shonen Jump announced is getting an anime adaptation at a to be determined date. This and Chainsaw Man are two of our most anticipated anime announcements of the year!
Yuji Kaku builds compelling worlds that have grit but mystery as well and his characters are one's that are easy to gravitate towards and they are extremely likable. This is the case in Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku and it is the case yet again in his latest manga, Ayashimon, which Viz just released with English translation on the Shonen Jump app. New chapters will be releasing weekly on Sunday according to Viz's current schedule.
Ayashimon is a story about Maruo, who not only dreams of becoming a manga protagonist but also loves to fight. One day, he finds himself in the world of the Ayashimon Yakuza where he meets a girl named Urara, who wants to escape the underworld.
Yuji Kaku has two manga published with English translation, Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku and Ayashimon but his works Fantasma, which has only three volumes, and Prison Princess, which is a one-shot, have also released in Japan. I'm excited to see more from him, because he and Tatsuki Fujimoto are two of my favorite manga creators to debut within recent years.
You can check out Ayashimon and read the first chapter now on Viz's website or the Shonen Jump app and get a quick look at the art in Ayashimon in the gallery below!
